Kingston, Jamaica – Just 1 Child Incorporated, in partnership with GoodNews Jamaica and the Olivia Smikle Foundation, recently hosted a successful “Read to Feed” program in Banana Ground, Manchester, Jamaica.

The event, which aimed to promote the importance of reading in children’s lives, was a resounding success, with over 98 children in attendance. The program’s founders believe that reading is the key to unlocking a child’s full potential, and this event was a testament to that belief.

“We believe that reading is essential to nourishing both the mind and body,” said Conwree Denton, founder of Just 1 Child Incorporated. “This event was a wonderful opportunity to share that passion with the children of Banana Ground.”

Charles Hyatt, CEO of GoodNews Jamaica, added, “We are committed to supporting initiatives that promote literacy and education. This event was a great example of what can be achieved when organizations come together to make a positive impact.”

Olivia Smikle, CEO of the Olivia Smikle Foundation, emphasized the importance of reading in children’s lives, saying, “Reading is the foundation upon which all learning is built. We are proud to have been a part of this event and look forward to continuing to support initiatives that promote literacy and education.”

The event was made possible through the generous support of Minister Reid, who provided the use of the Bethel property.
